The Biden Administration’s approach to the border crisis has reckless and irresponsible.  Once the illegal immigrants enter the United States, they are transported to the State of the choice.  A State that is ill equipped to handle an influx of people.  Immigrants are living at airports and bus terminals.  States such as Michigan does not have the necessary resources to accommodate them.  So, Governor Whitmer is leaving this responsibility to its citizens. 

Governor Whitmer and the “Global Michigan” office are seeking homeowners to open their homes and take in refugees.  Global Michigan’s mission statement reads “In alignment with this overarching goal, our office takes the lead in advancing equity and inclusion initiatives throughout the state, including spearheading programs for the seamless integration of newcomers. Global Michigan’s dedicated teams are focused on empowering immigrant, refugee, underrepresented and marginalized communities across the state to achieve their highest potential. Our aim is to contribute meaningfully to a Michigan that embraces diversity and actively promotes inclusivity, ensuring that opportunities for growth and prosperity are open to all.”

Michigan Global’s refugee resettlement plan states “The federal Department of State collaborates with national voluntary/private resettlement agencies to determine the allocation of refugees to specific regions or states. In Michigan, six agencies, supported by the federal Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) within the Department of State, play a pivotal role. They offer crucial initial reception and placement services during the first 30 to 90 days in the United States for individuals arriving with refugee status. This collaborative effort ensures a comprehensive and supportive start for those beginning their journey in their new home.”  A few of these “private resettlement agencies” are:

• Bethany Christian Services
• Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County
• Samaritas
• St. Vincent Catholic Charities
• United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants - Dearborn

We all know how warm hearted and welcoming Michiganders can be, but no one expects them to do this for nothing. “You may be eligible to receive financial compensation for housing immigrants. Programs such as the Newcomer Rental Subsidy (NRS) Program in Michigan provide temporary support to refugees and other immigrant populations. It’s essential to connect with local agencies or organizations involved in refugee and immigrant services to learn more about the specific requirements and compensation”. (automated search response) Compensation is based on several factors, but most are $300.00 to $500.00 monthly.

 

Now you have the basics, let an illegal move in and you get money.  I would not worry too much about the fact that you’re committing the crime of aiding and abetting (encouraging, facilitating or aiding in the commission of a criminal act.), our Attorney General Dana Nessel is far too busy chasing down 2020 election deniers.  With that aside, let’s get to the “Brightside” of the issue.  Think of all the benefits the COL gains from this program. 

 Homeowners could have live-in housekeepers and lawn care services.  Your children could learn a second language.  Maybe with a little luck you could have your every own ISIS terrorist cell in your basement.  These are just a few of the advantages.  But the real windfall lands squarely in the lap of the COL and COS.

Because the homeowner is essentially receiving a rent payment.  I believe these “landlords” fall under the rental inspection guidelines.  We need to know that homes are safe and livable.  In case you’re wondering what falls under these guidelines, here are just a few from the COL website.

  All sleeping areas must have proper egress- window must be able to remain open under own power (no props used to hold the window in an open position)

  Cover plates on all outlets, switches and junction box

  Heating unit is properly installed and maintained and in safe working condition

  Water heater is properly installed and functioning with a pressure relief valve discharge pipe that extends to 4-6 inches above the floor

  Sanitary conditions throughout all contracted areas/structures: dwelling (bathrooms bedrooms, kitchen, basement, hallways, etc.) porches, shed, garage, etc.- all areas maintained in a manner as to not invite or harbor insects or rodents

  Bathroom facilities- all components in proper working order and in sanitary condition

  All plumbing and sewer lines must be properly attached to appropriate public system

  Smoke detectors: one in or directly outside of each bedroom, one near the heating unit and at least one on each floor

  Carbon monoxide detector: one required in the general area of any fuel-fired appliance or heating system

It just seems the very least the COL could do to help welcome these “refugees” into the city.  Let’s not forget the COS as Mr Rob Alway stated “We wanted to maintain a level of continuity between the two communities so there wasn’t confusion among the property owners,” said Rob Alway, Planning Commission chairman. “We have heard positive feedback from the City of Ludington about its program and we believe this is in the best interest of the citizens of Scottville” (Mason County Press 3/08/2017).  With that said, Scottville, you are on the hook as well. 

The health and safety of these immigrants should be every city commissioner’s main concern.  Maybe someone will ask the COL and COS commissioners if these welcoming homes will fall under any type of rental inspection.  [Barney Reinberg]

  I was reading another article about taking in immigrants into your home. First was your safety, you don't know nothing of who they are or what their mental state is. Secondly, if you find that the person/family just isn't working with your lifestyle you just can't ask them to leave. You have to go through the eviction process just like landlords do to get them out. Also you will be stuck with any damage they caused dollar wise as you will never collect from them.   So to you goodhearted people who think bringing in illegal immigrants into your home is a godly thing to do , go to a Psychiatrist  first, you need mental help.

This topic really encompasses all that is wrong with America. From our corrupt Government to corrupt foreign Governments and all the way to the cartels and the human smuggling industry which includes most of the major charity organizations in the US and around the World. This is all going to end in a catastrophic apocalypse. Human trafficking is big business along with drugs, children and even human organs. All of this starts with the cartels and criminals and is supported financially and morally by the White House and in the Halls of Congress. Now, Whitmer, along with the Leftists in Michigan want to enrich those involved by supplying financial incentives by giving charities and Government agencies our tax dollars to ensure this madness continues. This is absolutely nuts.

Feds fund 98% of the Office of Global Michigan. Money and ideas driving refugee resettlement in Michigan come from Washington. The Office of Global Michigan, which was created to facilitate the resettlement of refugees to Michigan, is a federally funded venture. In 2024, federal money covers 98% of the office’s budget. In the 2024 budget, Michigan lawmakers approved $39,127,500 for the Office of Global Michigan. Only $758,000 of that came from the general fund. The lion’s share, 98%, or $38,369,000, came from the federal government. Michigan is a top-10 state for refugees, according to the Office of Global Michigan.

There is a reason why the state is wanting to proliferate the urban myth that there is a housing shortage everywhere and that they and their public funds are needed to solve the problem by building more megastructures.  It's because they are wanting to move all of those illegal aliens replacements newcomers into your neighborhoods and the reason seems to be to marginalize our country and ruin it over time.

  By offering $300. to $500. to house someone per month isn't going to get many takers.  New York  is getting about $383 per day to take in the illegals. Now that might be temping, but as in New York they are finding out it's not worth the destruction they cause.  Now here in Ludington the City will find a way to get the $383 per day and give the citizen $300. per month.
