FOR OUR HUNGRY AND POOR, FREE MEAL EVERY TUESDAY NITE IN LUDINGTON FOR THE PUBLIC.

It's getting around to that Holiday Season again when we look around and find our fellow citizens with poverish types in the streets and hungry. Some are getting assistance, some fell through the cracks and cannot get any assistance. For those of you in the City of Ludington, or nearby on Tuesday nights, the Community Church behind the Elks Club, sponsors a free dinner from 4:30-6:00pm in the basement dining room. There is a free will donation box if you are able, if not, you may eat for free. Tonight the main course was Shepherd's Pie, coleslaw, applesause, roll, cupcake or jello, and tea, coffee, or lemonade. You can come as you are, and kids are always welcome. Volunteers are always welcome too. Every week the churches rotate to make this dinner possible, they also have food banks where canned and frozen goods are given out to the needy, and this schedule also rotates daily as to which church has a program available. If you need help, this is the way to get some. If you can volunteer to help, please do that instead. If we all work together, anything is possible. Thanks.

They have in it Scottville at the church almost across from the west shore bank on US10(state st) every Tues. from 4:30 to 6pm. been happening there for a few years now. Same thing, free for any but donations appreciated from those able.
Thanks Lando, if we all participate, in any way we can, all can make a small difference, and sometimes, mostly, that is enough to get the ball rolling in an upward motion, not downward. That's what this stuff is all about, people and progress! Most of you, if you have never participated, would feel a real uplift in the soul, and attitude, for getting involved. Most gratifying indeed!
The link here also shows some area services for those going through difficult times, and a web site/ telephone number to find out more about such services (2-1-1):

With so many people struggling to get by, they need all the help they can get. Don't forget that providing labor for and visiting those who are old or disabled can make someone feel really good... and it could even be you.
Excellent XLFD, you hit the nail on the head! It's so important to help those whom cannot help themselves anymore, imo. Visit nursing homes, the assisted living homes, you'll feel great! They will too, and you'll see it in their smiles and compliments. We all pride ourselves on non-obligations, not being an obligation, from anyone, in any form, but sometimes, we just gotta be human and help those whom are in need, emergency types, and that, makes me feel real good, and it will you guys too, try it, you'll like it! Just my pathetic opinion I guess, or is it?
