Even though this forum was set up as a free wheeling place to research abuse of power by those in charge in politics, and the lack of media coverage of those events. Any thread from anyone about interests in Ludington are welcome.

I often wonder what happened to a guy I used to enjoy talking to on the TL site tapped out went... anyone know?

I have to believe any site bearing the name "Ludington" or "Lakeshore" has to be big enough for a plethora of discussions.

While your basic assumption is correct about our origin Guido, let me cut and paste our original mission statement thread head which examined why I had originally lit this thing up:

"The Western Michigan area is a truly gifted place. The natural attractions and the people themselves are diverse and offer much to those who live or visit there. And yet, this paradisical area has been experiencing problems and issues that have either been ignored or addressed in ways that are contrary to common sense or common law.
The area is not served locally by a TV station. Local radio stations have few resources vested in gathering local news and issues of interest to the public at large. As for newspapers, an entity called Shoreline Media has managed to monopolize what is (and, more importantly, what isn't) reported in this area. They have also managed to gain a strong foothold, and near monopoly, on local internet discussions in their various Talks Ning sites.
While SM has earned its foremost place and its reputation (good or bad), The Ludington Torch has been lit to expose the gaps that are left out in SM's sometimes myopic vision. Shadows which have hid injustice, corruption and those disenfranchised will be revealed on a regular basis, if we succeed at our task. Real News which has been overlooked will be uncovered.
This Social Networking site is managed by a concerned citizen who lives here and has seen the greatness of our community, and yet has also seen corruption and injustice, at the expense of our community. The Torch will succeed and be empowered by YOU, the concerned citizen and Torch-bearer, acting as the eyes, ears, and mouth of the silent majority of the masses.
Beyond this, the Torch also wishes to offer a place for spirited discussion over any topics of interest to its members. Please report any abuse of this privilege, and it will be investigated ASAP. We also insist you show us your own sights and sounds. Photos, Music, and Videos should be inoffensive to others. Please read the terms of service at the bottom if you wonder what is allowable. The Rules of the Torch thread is also accessible, if you want a condensed version.

The Citizens of the Western Michigan area, and all those who grew up in, or regularly visit this area, are hereby given a free forum and spotlight-- The Ludington Torch. "

There is nothing prohibiting positive, neutral or negative postings on here, local to national, but don't be surprised if you set off other people's BS detectors, and spirited discussion to follow if your view is too Pollyannaish or even if it's too harsh.

Thank you for re-posting that XL.. I joined well after the original thought process I think so I olny am flying by perception. That being said I ofet see many other threads of other issues and many not at all towing a ideological line here either.
