According to very credible sources, JT Szoboszlay, a graduate of Ludington High School in 2025, left Stearns Park just before midnight on December 23, 2025, in no condition to drive.  He was not old enough to drink alcoholic beverages, but he did that night and unwisely got behind the wheel and drove towards his home, up North Lakeshore Avenue.  On his way he drove onto the other side of the avenue, crashing into multiple streetside objects, including a telephone pole. driving with enough speed to snap it and create the loss of power for many in the area.

Fortunately for JT, the sole responding Ludington Police Department (LPD) officer was Trey Forfinski, and although he was reportedly told by dispatch and the credible person who called the accident in that the driver was showing signs of being very drunk, he did not put anything down about that on his police report.  No, what he did on the report was put down a lot of reasons why he never did any sobriety tests and offered a lot of baseless alibis for JT, whose attractive sister recently graduated in the same LHS class as Officer Forfinski.

No tickets would be issued to the 18-year-old for underaged drinking or DWI; JT was able to drive home with his father after his totaled car was towed from the scene.  His father was a scion of the community, being the former Officer in Charge of Coast Guard Station Ludington.

Surely there was no victim in this incident if you don't include some streetside fixtures, some utility customers, and some volunteer firefighters rousted from a winter's sleep.  It's not like JT's drunken driving spree wiped out some family when he crossed that center line at a speed likely greater than the limit.  But Lady Justice and Father Fairness were the victims here when you think about it, and the way to prove this was in the body worn camera (BWC) footage and so that's why I wrote about it a week later and asked for the footage via a FOIA request.

LPD Chief Chris Jones did what he could to hide the footage of an outside incident that shouldn't have had any exemptions other than maybe the utterance of an address or phone number, by assigning an outrageous sum for the BWC of $131.36.  This is one of the reasons why he is called "Thief Jones", and so when the rest of city administrators and our city council circled the wagons and upheld the outrageous price, I did something that they didn't expect.  I paid it.

And on the day I did that, I was told by Sergeant Morris speaking on behalf of Thief Jones that I would have the record within 13 days (he said 12 1/2 days, as if the redactions would take many days to implement).  More than 13 days later, I was given the news that the incriminating BWC footage was deleted at the end of January, nearly four weeks before I paid the public record ransom and had it accepted by the city treasurer as payments for footage that was then non-existent.

That's the summation of relevant events in this odyssey, and that and more is included in my COMPLAINT filed yesterday and served on the city clerk earlier today.  Further developed in the complaint is the fact that Thief Jones manually adjusted the deletion time for the retention of records after I publicly disclosed the potentially incriminating record from a year to a month, with him and Captain Mike (My caveman) Haveman not adjusting that period back to a year as policy mandates (this chronology is supported by their own audit of that BWC record).  This indicates a pattern of incompetency if you think highly of those two Keystone Kops or a pattern of intentional corruption when they destroyed those public records showing corrupted behavior when they were asked for by FOIA and later accepting payment for records they knew no longer existed.

The obstacle in the way of getting complete justice is the tainted and official-biased judge of the 51st Circuit Court, Susan Sniegowski, who I have found regularly goes around the law in order to thwart any corrupt public official or public body from being properly held to account for their misdeeds.  My last FOIA case against the city, one that I tried to disqualify this judge due to her husband being an official with the city, was held up for a year and a half with a process and a ruling that fell outside any rational outcome.

During that time, Legally Lazy Susan disqualified herself from Dr. Riemer's lawsuit with the city, claiming her husband was an officer of the city and she couldn't be expected to have bias.  That disqualification was done on her own, and without any motion to do so from Riemer's attorney.

This time I decided to add an AFFIDAVIT and a MOTION OF DISQUALIFICATION to emphasize how biased she has been over the years.  I fear that she will see the potentially criminal acts of Ludington city officials in the complaint and take the case up so that her final opinion and order will totally ignore the corrupt and criminal acts.  The city's attorneys will have their opportunity to submit their answer and affirmative defenses over the next three weeks, and we look forward to winning what we are due from the police agency that willfully destroyed public records that would show that they learned nothing from the DWI incident involving their Sergeant Austin Mendez.

We look forward to getting some accountability from not only Ludington City Hall and their police department, but from the court as well.

In my past experiences with Judge Sniegowski and with the Mason County Judicial System in whole.. is that when you cite the constitutional boundaries they are held to.. directly to them in court.. by then council.. 9x. [Their understanding of the Seventh Amendment]..Civil Cases Only: It applies to federal civil lawsuits (disputes between private parties or organizations) where the value in controversy exceeds twenty dollars. Preservation of Rights: It preserves the right to a jury trial as it existed under traditional English common law. [Seems to disappear from memory].
Thank you for your courageous and hard work and Ffinancial toil on this case, X. Now it all makes sense in this followup. The son of the Officer of the Coast Guard getting a free ride home after being so drunk he hit the light pole and knocked power out on Ludington Ave. Friend of Officer Forfinski, possibly to impress his sister? Typical Ludington unfairness as any other underage drunk would have been prosecuted as a delinquent criminal and ruined his young Szoboszlay life.

CORRUPT Officer Forfinski should be immediately fired. THIEF jones should be canned for willing and malicious destruction of evidence and pay fines

Agreed, I just wish more people would get upset that their police officials are so tainted, but this isn't as easy as it sounds, as there are multiple ways those police and their prosecutor apologists can get back at you-- like tagging you with three bogus arraignments and keeping you defending yourself in court for years.
