I am both saddened and shocked to find myself repeating prior posts, probably long lost in the archives here, of not fully enjoying this precious and favorite season for joy and fellowship with my fellow Americans. All because of the something like a 10 year NEWBIE tradition of trashing Christmas here at home. It's because of SP's, the (secular progressives) or more commonly known as the "politically correct liberals" that permeate our daily lives. Yes, it's Christmas and New Years soon again, and now those SP's can freely and repeatedly attack our Christmas celebration. WHY & HOW? Why, I believe they have a set of knives and forks to eat with just as we do, but, they have nothing on their plate to eat, and therefore, have to slice and dice the rest that do. Philosophically speaking, that means, at least to me, that they are blanks on the role call of reality, no meat, potatoes, veggies, nor even a meager excuse to be happy. Not even an appetizer of positive comments to chew on. Empty plates = empty heads. Angry and despondent people with all the time in the world to pick fights, instead of being peaceful and loving individuals. Too much time to devise a mechanism for division and confrontations. The USA has prided itself throughout history in defining our being as a christian god fearing nation that follows the biblical preachings of love of thy neighbor, forgiveness, charity, and loyalty. Can this philosophy be so terrible and bad for mankind? HOW? How can we say Happy Holidays in place of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one another? How can we now call a Christmas tree a Holiday tree like the Rhode Island Governor of a few days ago? How can we tear down the Nativity scene and birth date of the savior and God's only son, whom was the Prince of Peace? I'm far from a righteous bible thumper or preacher, but, I again ask, why tear down our institutions and traditions for the sake of illegal aliens and atheists? Does the traditions offend them so that this must occur every year constantly? Why can't everyone just accept these American traditions without fear, frenzy, and overzealous actions to squash them into the past? Let every citizen, whether legal or not, celebrate their own way of Christmas with the religion of their choice, albeit alien to us as Americans, but, can you just do it without this chaos and feeble ways of attracting attention to yourselves as martyrs? Leave true Americans alone, and vice-versa, is all I can ask for. But, that only seems a distant dream of yesterday now, or is it?

Nobody is forcing religion or christian beliefs on anyone during our Christmas celebration at all, it's all a farce and disguise to intrude into our traditions as Americans imho. To remake, as it were, all of us, division is a powerful force. Divided we fall, and they know this tactic and trick all too well in the third world of countries. As past Americans, we stood United, and as such, overcame all that opposed us and would see Democracy destroyed and/or contaminated with injustice and diseased ideologies that we do not accept, nor want as our foundations. This particular tradition of trashing Christmas must end soon, or it's origin and cause will eventually envelope us imho, if it's not too late already. JMO
Uh - this has been Photo Shopped. Get the truth. The t-shirts originally said "2012 - Yes We Plan" before some right wing fanatic got to them with his computer.

Good job, William; I thought the original t-shirts were in poor taste by the ladies, and when IDJ exposed the unretouched photos, we find they didn't wear such tacky shirts. I hope the place you got the photos made some mention of the fact that they were edited, otherwise they are in poor taste.
Tolerance works both ways. The same people who are offended by the word 'Christmas' and the nativity are the same ones preaching tolerance about everything they approve of.
I am saddened and shocked that you didn't use any paragraphs. LOL
I am a full blown A-theist. And even I am sick of the Politically Correct Crap (PCC). I don't mine Merry x-mas tree or nativity scenes in the public square. It's been that way for years and it all looks pretty and hurts no one except a bunch of oversensitive boneheads who get butthurt by any thing.
Aquaman fitted 23 sentences in that one paragraph; I contacted Guiness to see whether this qualifies for some sort of record.
I looked at the local equivalent of this last year in this thread: the-war-against-christmas-in-ludington noting the nearly complete absence of the word Christmas in all our local activities. This year it's gotten only worse: in the upcoming activities they usually have some mention of the "Holiday Parade". This year they went from 'Trick or Treat (x2)' to 'New year's Eve...', as shown in this link of their home page: http://www.ludington.mi.us/
But they did have a 'holiday parade' this year-- more like a parade to celebrate 'small business Saturday', held on November 24. I want to be finished with Thanksgiving leftovers before I see a Christmas parade, and so apparently do a lot of others. From what I hear, they did get some negative blowback, and not just from this modest pumpkin whom they would rather alter policy for than actually listen to.
Well said AQUAMAN. I agree with you 100%.
Thanks Brian, and btw, I should admit that when I have tried to compile seperate paragraphs to my posts, the darn program ignores them and puts them into one long paragraph anyhow. Maybe I should try again here and see if it works now, don't want the sentence structure police giving me a ticket ya know? There are some traditions that I would just as soon they never changed, and Christmas is my pet peeve of recent years. Next thing you know they will try to change that date too, probably for more confusion and chaos. See what I mean, I just checked the post and look what I got this time....lol. Darn machines and cyberspace! Oh yeah, Felice Navidad all.
Weird, all I do his press enter a couple times and get a space between new paragraphs. I have glitches in some things to so I won't police your posts(too much, lol)
WEll, I wish they WOULD change the date, a friday would be great for 3 day weekend, same for thanksgiving, I hate working on the friday after thanks giving or on monday half day on xmas eve day and then wednesday(xmas on tuesday) the day after (this year).
I say move them to a friday or a monday and igve us all long weekends like memorial and labor day. 4th of july too. for tonight no editing or spellcheck.
being pro- Choice and believing in planning when to have children does not mean people want people to have abortions, it is the same as the 2nd amendment, I don't want any government entity or bible thumper to tell me what I can do with MY body.
I may not want abortions to happen, but I sure as hell don't want anyone telling me what I can and cannot do with my body, mind or life. that is what the religous wacko's are trying to do, tell women what they can and cannot do, just like the people trying to say we can't have guns or can't have medical marijuana, I don't use Marijuana, have guns or have abortions, but Isure as hell don't want anyone telling me what to do, it is my choice, not the right wing religious nut jobbers or the governments job to control me.
As bad as Agenda 21 is for the pepole and environment the same as the pro-life anti family planning people who won't tell teens about birth control pills, condoms etc.. or the people trying to take away 2nd amendment rights.
If there is a "War on Christmas," I have yet to see ANY sign, ANYwhere of it being lost! And to trumpet it out that the War on Christmas (and Christ) is being led by "the libs," is akin to me saying that all conservatives are Glock toting, fundy members of the Michigan Militia.
I say Merry Christmas. I teach the story of the nativity to my students, but I also teach them about Hanukkah, Kwaanza, etc, because I must teach historical context. (Truly though, December 25 is only the date assigned to the birth of Christ. Many scientists feel Jesus was born in the spring, but it was celebrated in the winter to offset the pagan ritual of the solstice.) I hold a Christmas concert. We sing Christmas songs. I have a creche in my classroom, so that my students know who they are singing about. And lo and behold, I'm one of the "libs!" One doesn't have to proudly wear a "Jesus is the reason for the season" button around to enjoy the goodwill, cheer and giving spirit of the holiday season. Believing in Christmas has NOTHING to do with being a "true American."
