Its nice to see the Sheriff being man of his word.  He has only been in office for a few weeks and he is tackling our counties problems that have been overlooked for years.  Along with wanting to fix the problems, he is getting involved with Scottville trying to solve their police issues right away, I think the County should have been patrolling Scottville at the beginning of their mess.

Chuck

Like I stated before all public buildings are required to have air changes every hour. That means the ventilation system brings in a certain amount of outside air and exhaust interior air on a regular basis. Depending on the building type and use the number of air changes can vary but it still requires that all of the air in the building be replaced with outside air continually or "x number of air changes per hour".

Damn Chucky?? Which is Cheaper?? an Air test? Or $18000 for air duct vacuuming? Have you wasted that much for your home lately? As far as opening windows its a damn jail. Kind of defeats the security a little? As far as actual prisoners are concerned I hope they are a little uncomfortable.

Try Opening the Doors and Windows once in a while, and maybe the place won't smell like a bunk house without showers and soap, eh? Why aren't prisoners and staff taking showers once in a blue moon anyhow? Is it too much to expect in the Jail atmosphere? There is such a thing as opening sky lights too if someone was to install a couple here and there. But, that would probably go against DOC and Union rules, and who wants to go against a Union that has so much power, and of course, MONEY spent on junk issues like this?

I don't know if you have ever looked around since he last time you were in jail but there are no windows to open and I dare say the doors are locked for reasons such as security and bad guys that want to leave so come up with something else Aquman that you know more about then anyone else.

As someone mentioned there is an air exchange required to bring in outside air and release the "old air" to the outside atmosphere. Wasting money on the duct instead of making sure the air exchange system is working properly is exactly that a waste of money for what? Creating a job for local friends is not the way to spend money for law enforcement.  If they were looking for hidden gems in the ductwork systems, then charge it to the prisoner who may have hidden something there.

You sound like an inside person Chuck so tell me this.  If its such a problem why hasn't any of Mason Counties Mounties called this problem into the states OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Adm)?  If this happened before the last election it would have been even better for Ol' Kim Cole.

Can someone tell me what he means when he says ' Our number one issue is to protect the people in this building the best we can'.  I think his priorities are a bit off.  If he replaces building with Mason County, then he would be speaking to me.

Here's a link in case you want to pass Marty's suggestion along to them, Charles.

I'm thinking that you need to be an affected employee to file a complaint.  MIOSHA will check it out, and if there is a problem that can be resolved by duct cleaning, they can provide documentary evidence that would be hard for the county board to dispute.

So Hulk and Chucky, are you saying that everyone on this forum should have your words and thoughts drilled into their heads so we all agree with you Trolls? That your adamant love for Cole and other county/city administrators is so strong, that you lick their boots daily, irregardless of their lack of spending funds wisely? Does it make you feel superior to all by walking around all day, everyday, with 2 chips on your shoulders, threatening anyone you come in contact with because they disagree with your programmed troll mindsets? That's all I see in your posts, programmed robots that can't think for themselves on any issue! Great Contribution to the county and life in general, aka Sheeple imho.

Very mature Aquaman with the name calling by the way.  The problem with is that you will rip people on here for spelling errors and will call them names and degrade them.  Then you get on here and throw mud at Chuck and I because we don't agree with you.  If you are going to be on here and act like you are respected then show respect to other people who are on here sharing their own opinion.

I don't believe I have a love affair for all of the County/City administrators.  I have shared my disagreement with city officials on here, so I don't agree with you on that.  Yes, I do like Sheriff Cole and I understand you don't which is fine, but I do understand if the old Sheriff was in there and he wanted to do some of the things Sheriff Cole wants to do then you would agree with him.

I do like the comment stating that they should open some windows or doors to get some air moving through there.  I really don't know if I can touch that comment to much without making fun of you regarding how that wouldn't be possible at a County Jail.  The whole problem some of you have with Cole wanting to do this and spend the money is that it doesn't benefit you personally and helps Law Enforcement Officers out, which you are totally against obviously.  I see no problem with having our County Buildings up to par and having the employees working in a healthy atmosphere.

I posted the definition of the word troll on a previous thread all to its self. If you take issue to that and call it name calling then don't fit the stereotype.

If the prisoners need a breath of fresh air I say organize a town trash pick up party as many many Jails do in the South. I don't care if the prisoners get embarrassed or not in being eyeballed

Its about the workers having a safe and healthy place to work

Hulk, quote me just once where I said I hated Cole, or anyone else in the MCSO. You want anyone favoring Fiers over Cole to be labeled with hating Cole, when there is nothing farther from the truth. You can't quote anyone here saying that, your main problem is the chips on your own shoulders. Why not try, for once perhaps in your public sector life, as you MUST work there, (not in the private sector), to look at these situations from the publics viewpoint. You can spin-doctor your posts to try to degrade others here all you want, it's not a winning game for you though. When you make the "first attacks", and call others here "names, libel, defame", you only weaken your own positions. If that doesn't work, then you try to "put words in others mouths/posts, that simply aren't there". Ever hear of "self-esteem"? Feeling you have some value in society? Your lack of it isn't anyone else's fault but YOUR OWN! GROW UP. I've got a feeling you're another Union crony/supporter, that wants everything at the MCSO delivered to you on a silver platter, so you won't get your weak little hands a bit dirty. Think outside the box, do something to help you own situations, and quite relying on the taxpayer to pay for your petty gripes in life. In your particular situation, being referred to as a "troll" might just be the biggest compliment you're going to get around here. All those prisoners in your care, as Guido said, could have already been put to work vacuuming and cleaning those air ducts and been done with it by now, with all the time you people waste complaining about the mess. It's called being inventive, instead of a cry-baby.
