Analysis: Eight ways Gretchen Whitmer vows to improve Michigan

New Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State speech before a joint session of the state House and Senate Tuesday evening.

1. Shut down the economy

2. Lay off millions of workers

3. Declare Martial law

4. Imprison citizens who disobey her orders

5. Remove civil liberties

6. Trash the Constitution

7. Restrict the freedom of movement

8. Make the people pay the price for electing her

Don't you just love the taste of oppression when it's done for your own good?

This is only the beginning of what lies ahead if leftists and progressives are

given control. They have discovered how easy it is to shut down society and control

the citizens. This won't be the last time we go thru this. It's only going to get worse

when more of these people are put in power

Axis of evil. No joke.

I'd love to call this hyperbole or false, but us Michiganders are seeing it with our own eyes, and she's doing it with barely any shame or logical support.  Our state government is not alone, there are other moderate and leftist governors that have let autocratic urges either cloud their judgment or show their true colors.

We should thank Donald Trump for giving us insight into the inner workings of swampy state government, where we can review what the governors did and consider how the currently-impotent legislatures reacted.

Stuck at home replaying over and again a scary rerun of the twilight zone.

FS, Don't be stuck. Live your life normally. Don't let the hysteria control you. I visited family yesterday half way across the State and delivered Easter presents.

No Easter dinner. No visiting family. No yard work. No painting or non-essential house repairs. WHitler has gone WHacko and who knows what police state the attorney general will send out to those breaking the law partaking in non-essential visiting or non-local recreation travel, Willy. Thanks for the advice to rebel, but I'd rather stay safe at home watching the twilight zone unfold, slowly going crazy. I certainly don't want to catch the coronavirus filing up my gas tank.

This topic is about an article in the " Bridge" a supposedly not partisan news source about Whitmer's State of the State address. So I thought I would accurately post what she has actually done. X have you ever heard of this group, if so what is your opinion about it's claim to be non partisan? My antenna's went up when I saw that one of their sponsors is the notorious left wing Kellogg foundation.

I actually reviewed the Bridge article earlier before you provided this link, and like how you updated it.

I believe Bridge Magazine strives to be non-partisan, which is always tough, and they are fairly successful in doing that.  When both right and left leaning groups use their data to prove a point, it makes that appearance stronger.  Most of the contributors for Bridge are active or former newspaper journalists which would seem to give some credence to liberal bias, but several of them are members of conservative-leaning papers like the Detroit News, so there appears to be an attempt to keep both sides happy.
