Turns out pretty low.... although I don't think to many will be surprised. A far left blogger, Wonkette, had posted on her site some comments about Sarah Palin's son Trig who has Down's Syndrome. Wonkette attempts to justify the comments by suggesting that Palin used her son as a political prop... of course I'm sure it never occurred to Wonky that maybe Palin is proud of her son. Even if it was true that Palin used Trig as a 'prop', which of course isn't true, she would be far from the first politician that has ever used a 'prop'.

If Wonky wants to pick on someone, she should just stay with the adults, keep the kids out of it. The double standard in this regard is so utterly obvious its not even funny. Palin's kids have been poked at many times since Palin came to be nationally known and you know full well that if someone on the far right made some sort of nasty comment about Obama's kids that it would be like the end of the world, you'd hear all sorts of stuff about it on the news.

To Wonkette.... grow up.

The left will only cut down people on the right with a child with Down's Syndrome but tell the Gov to take of their child.
Assuming that they don't abort it first.
In simple terms Dave, it's just staying true to their colors all along. That of hypocrisy and double-standards, to create the perfect spin to anyone they disagree with. Cheap trick-shot artists.

One of the few things known about Sarah Palin early on was that she brought a Down Syndrome child to term, and you could see the panic in the left. This wasn’t just someone whose rhetoric clashed with them on abortion; this was someone whose fully compassionate act was a condemnation of the policy they support that results in 90% of children like Trig being aborted.

There’s no greater refutation of abortion than an alive child, and thus Palin holding Trig and smiling is like a finger in the eye to the left. And it’s not so much that they fear other people being convinced on her view of abortion as they fear themselves being moved when they consider her selfless act.

Who wants to come to terms with how horrible the policy is they’ve enthusiastically supported? That’s why they like the term “choice” instead of saying “abortion”; they never want to stare it directly in the face for fear of what they’d see. For fear of what they may feel.

But, again, the mere existence of Trig leaves them no way out on this. And that’s why there is so much ire by an uber-liberal like Wonkette (who I've never heard of before) directed at Trig. It’s not misdirected venom from a Sarah Palin hatefest ; it’s target is Trig because he did the greatest offense by existing.

Great point  XL!!!

I hope the shakers and movers on the left go as far as Hell, then stop.
