Nicknamed the Harbaugh Bowl, HarBowl, Super Baugh, and the Brother Bowl, this will be the first Super Bowl featuring opposing head coaching brothers, Baltimore's John Harbaugh and San Francisco's Jim Harbaugh, whose clubs previously met in a 2011 Thanksgiving Classic, in which John's Ravens won, 16–6. The Ravens, after finishing the 2012 regular season with a 10–6 record, are making their second Super Bowl, having previously won Super Bowl XXXV. Ray Lewis, the MVP from that game, returns for this game, which he has said will be his last before his retirement from professional football. The 49ers enter the game seeking their sixth Super Bowl win in team history (and first since Super Bowl XXIX), which would tie the Pittsburgh Steelers with the most Super Bowl wins, after going 5–0 in their previous appearances. San Francisco finished the regular season at 11–4–1.
This will mark the first Super Bowl in which both of the teams have appeared in, but not yet lost, a previous Super Bowl: the 49ers have won all five of their previous Super Bowls while the Ravens won in their only previous Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XXXV against the New York Giants. This means that the winner will become the only remaining team in the NFL to have appeared in multiple Super Bowls without losing one. This will also be the first Super Bowl in which both teams can trace their lineage to the All-America Football Conference, as the Ravens are descended from the Cleveland Browns franchise, which joined the NFL along with the 49ers when the AAFC disbanded in 1949.
The Superbowl will air tomorrow afternoon starting at 5:30 PM. Before that time, put out your predictions here and let's see who can get the closest to the actual result. Since this has little midwestern interest, just predict your score. Afterwards, comment on the game and your favorite commercials, and claim victory if you come closest in the categories:
1) Closest to actual score
2) Closest to actual point total
3) Closest to margin of victory
Maybe someone will get all three.

I'm going to go with Forty Niners 27 and Ravens 24. I'm only interested in the game because of the brothers angle.
I think it should be close as both teams have excellent defenses but also have offenses that can be quite potent when they want to be... I think the 49'ers will win though.
49'ers- 24
Ravens- 19
Final result went the way of the Ravens, they won 34-31, surprising the three takers of the dare. I got the SF score on the nose but the Ravens did two TDs plus PAT better than I thought. Willy turned out to be the overall victor, tied with me for closest to actual score, and for point total, but better than all in margin of victory. I missed the gala event, was there any good commercials?
This is a good one. Other commercials can be seen by clicking on the pictures at the end of the video.
I was told the Ram farmer ad and the Budweiser Clydesdale ads were good, and they are. Interesting how two agricultural themed ads reverberate so much in the ultra-urban feel of Superbowl coverage. Thanks for sharing.
Missed this thread earlier, so no prediction. But, I must say that the 49ers last 4th and goal attempt was thwarted by the defense's obvious interference no call by the refs. on the receiver that would have caught the game winning throw. The replays showed it clearly, and this no call should have been overturned in defense of SF. The 30 minute delay of power outage is very strange and never witnessed that before on any game, let alone a Super Bowl. It sure had me wondering if some terrorists/subversives weren't at fault, anyone else?
As far as the missed call goes... it was probably a good no call, the WR looked like he was pushing off as much as he was being held and in the end kind of negated each other plus I'm not sure if the ball was catch-able either going by where the ball landed... just my opinion of course.
Regarding the power outage, there have been situations where that has happened before.. in 2011it actually happened at a 49'ers home game twice in the same night. Seems like I've heard of power issues happening at NBA games on a few occasions as well.
If you get a chance Dave, please watch that 4th and goal play again. The defensive WR was in immediate contact right at the scrimmage line on the offensive player, and was holding and pushing off the entire way into the end zone. The receiver only missed catching the ball by 1 step, and could have easily caught it if not interfered with imho. Didn't you bet on the Ravens to win? LOL.
Didn't bet on this game at all.. don't usually anyway cause whenever I do bet on a game like this I almost always lose.. lol.
Anyway, as far as the call goes, really could of went either way... defensive player was holding, offensive player was pushing off and the ball was iffy if could of even been caught in bounds.. keep in mind the ball landed out of bounds and that the angle the ball came down at, I don't know if the WR could of caught the ball in the field of play anyway. The announcers seemed to think it was a good no call and I tend to agree with them.
