Fourth Anniversary of the Ludington Torch Today

The day has kind of snuck up on me, what with all the Christmas preparation, FOIA requests and their replies and the continued interesting turns of local, state, national, and even international news and events, but today is the Fourth Anniversary of the official start of the Ludington Torch. 

 

Much has happened in that time, and much is still ahead of us.  We have grown from a small nucleus of people looking for a more open local website over local topics with minimal controls over the content of your speech.  We have went from having a couple dozen members in our first few months to now have over 300 more members without really trying to expand. 

 

Yet we've kept our original plans to eschew advertisement and keep membership open and free.  Over the last year, we regularly have over two dozen members from India, Australia and Pakistan join us every night, just to be released the next day along with their advertisements. 

 

 

We regularly get over 600 page hits each day, quite often get over 1000, and have gotten over 50,000 back in September when the Waterfront Park bathroom cameras went semi-viral for a couple of days.  Thanks for everyone paying attention to what's going on, and joining in on the discussion.  We begin our Fifth year looking to make even a bigger difference, have more fun doing so, and I hope you and yours the best of the Christmas season and happiness and prosperity into the new year.

love the caption above our hero. Most people would get a ticket for just standing in the middle of the road.  You've got to know that he's not done involving himself in Ludington's affairs. His time in the spotlight is not done and he still wants to hold court over us in some way, shape or manner.
