In one of the sillier stories i've read of late, NOW is suing Hooters because they offer a childrens menu as well as having high chairs and bib's that say "future hooters girl". Apparently NOW hasn't gotten the memo that they are no longer relevant in the grand scheme of things. Whatever credibility they had was shot during the California governors race where there was a woman running for governor and was called a whore by someone in the opposing campaign and still NOW supported the male running. Anyway, NOW needs to grow up and stop wasting their supporters money on stupid lawsuits.

NOW Sues Hooters

Our love of Hooters girls is well documented, but alas, not even the siren song of wings can convince the National Organization for Women.

They seem to think bibs that say "Future Hooters Girl" are somehow bad for children.

The women's rights org filed complaints against the restaurant chain for
catering to kids despite the fact that the establishments located in
San Francisco, San Bruno, Sacramento and Orange County are classified as
"adult entertainment" places.

Hooters also has children's menus, high chairs and booster seats, which would be available at family-friendly restaurants, the San Francisco Chronicle
reported. And promoting itself as a "family-style" eatery violates
state and local laws that prohibit sexually oriented adult businesses
from serving minors.

While Hooters reveals
that "10 percent of the parties we serve have children in them," it also
says that the restaurant doesn't promote themselves to families but
serve "all customers, including children."

Even though NOW does have a point, what if these kids just love bleu cheese?

How ridiculous, no one has to take their children there, what a waste of time, money and resources.
What kind of parent would take their child there in the first place? Children don't need to be exposed to that.

I guess I have to disagree with the Mary on this one and normally I would be the more "conservative" one here.

The woman I have seen at hooters... I have only been once ( I don't like wings and that's there big specialty) I See far more flesh on Ludington's beach ( And also far more debauchery). The atmosphere in the one I went to was actually far more family style than in say... The sportman's bar of which I see kids eating Pizza all the time.

I really think the NAG organization is starting to get worse than PETA of who has lost most of their credibility rallying against most animals as food period.

You are right on Hooters wearing more than the bikini's on the beaches. Parents even bring kids to nudist camps, so maybe NOW show sue those places too.

The CEO and owner was on undercover boss last year. He fired an employee who treated the girls as s*x objects and insisted he apologize to them. His goal is to make Hooters more a family friendly fun place, but admitted he faces an uphill battle because of those who exploited "the girls" in the past. I think Hooters will win this one once all is said and done especially after he went undercover to learn there was still some exploiting going on.

I feel if he went public with the promise to eliminate the exploiting of the women and make Hooters more family friendly, that took guts.

Whatever NOW was years ago, there time has passed. They are just an embarrassment to themselves now.
Personal responsibility starts at home: so, why are these young people taking their babies to such establishments to begin with? As well as many other places I have seen them in recent years that my parents would never have taken us. The guys that started Hooters had a novel idea for some "sexual suggestiveness" in the stressful businessman's luncheon mix, simple as that. The Hooters restaurants have been around for about 30 years. Fine time to say they are wrong now, isn't it NOW? NOW is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites, exploiting their power to hurt anyone they don't have particular agreement with, depending on the person, business, or political party associated with the people they sue. Another nuisance suit wasting money and courts' time, imho.
GIrls high school volleyball teams wear more revealing outfits than Hooters workers and the way high school cheerleaders and pom pom girls dance makes them appear more like strippers than cheerleaders.
Now that many of us has a consensus that many other aspects of a young woman's life involve more scantily dress than say a Hooters, Is there any piece of legitimate argument on NOW's part?? I am trying to think about the things I thought about at age 4-9 and big Hooters were not it. Possibly the big hamburger my dad had maybe??
If there's one thing that will get a man's mind off Hooters it's food. This is a photo of a BLT a family member ordered in a restaurant near Flint last year.

Was that at the truck stop, I forgot it's name.
That's quite the BLT, if for real. Far bigger than any Zack's truck stop had years ago. Since NOW's fledgling membership continues to fall, I guess they have to start some publicity once in a while to get their name in the news again. Pitiful!

I don't think it was a truck stop. I forgot the name of the restaurant. That BLT is for real.
