As a dreary winter leaves for a day or two in Ludington and then comes back in force, let's escape a little by looking at anagrams.  An anagram is a rearrangement of all letters in either a word or a phrase. Anagramming the phrase "debit card" for example can yield "bad credit" (note each letter is used once in the anagram for every time it is used in the original).

Ideally the anagram created is cognate and relates in some (perhaps humorous) way to the original word or phrase, such as "eleven plus two" anagrammed to "twelve plus one".

And thus we explain the title, "Gangland or Tsunami" as a twisting of "Ludington anagrams".  Instead of looking at anagrams covering the usual topics of what everybody knows about, we will look at those with only local implications.  I am very good at Scrabble, but most of the anagrams herein will have been created with help from this anagram creation link.

Let's look at some of our institutions, starting with three incarnations of our local media:

The Ludington Daily News => "Inundated yellow things" or "Disentangled, unholy wit" or

Ludington Daily News => "Deadly insulting now" or more appropriately

City of Ludington Daily News => "Syndicated, following unity"

WMOM News Radio => "Wow, media norms"

Synergy Group => "Grungy osprey"

The Mason County Press => "A synchronous tempest" or maybe

Mason County Press => "Nascent pussy room" (female kittens love the space) and

Ludington Torch => "Condoling truth"  (effectively to grieve with the truth)

Continuing, let's consider things regarding officials at Ludington City Hall, which is "Haltingly lucid, NOT!" by starting with the city council, some of these are not very cognate, but amusing:

Richard Rathsack => "Scratch dark hair"

Kathy Winczewski => "Snaky wicket whiz

Councilor Les Johnson => "Colorless John nuncio"

Michael Krauch => "A chalkier chum"

Councilor Wally Cain => "Clinical, awry, uncool"

Dave Bourgette => "Overate budget"

Councilor Henderson => "No crunchier noodles"

Let's not forget the support staff:

(Fire Chief) Gerald Funk => "Grand fluke"

(LPD) Chief Barnett => "Be the frantic" or better,

Chief Mark Barnett => "Embrace frat-think"

(City Attorney) Richard Wilson => "Sardonic whirl" or more titillating,

City Attorney Wilson => "Twisty nylon erotica"

(Planning Commissioner) Spence Riggs => "Egg princess"

(City Treasurer) Linda Rogers => "Loading errs"

(City Assessor) Carol Ann Foote => "A cartoon felon"

Asst. City Manager Steckel => "Cataclysm-resistant geek"

And the two highest executives:

City Manager Shay => "Hyena magistracy"

(Mayor) Kaye F. Holman => "A half monkey"

By the way, the name on my birth certificate nicely anagrams into "Hot mathematics troll", how cool is that?  Please use the comments to supply other locally relevant anagrams, like "Mason County Sheriff KIm Cole" => "Monarchist soufflé monkey" or to let other Torchers know your favorite.

Like if you agree.

I'm stumped.  I do know that former councilor "Gary Castonia" has two interesting anagrams:  "A satanic orgy" and "Gay raincoats".

Of course this is : Barnette prays at City council. Such a loser.

Fascinating find X. [Financing Tads Fix]. Very funny to [Envoy Fry Nut]. I've been having a problem with it tho. Every time I type in Ludington City Council or John Shay I come up with [sh_thole of corruption].

Shay's a bit mixed up to begin with, so I can see such results.  I found an interesting result, that works its way timely into the alleged use of a bad word by the president, which led to the mainstream media uttering that unedited word repeatedly in front of our young kids without a reason:

"Love City Manager John Shay" => "Angry caveman joy-sh_thole

Funny X.

More phrases.

"Ludington without Shay"  -  Golden beaches and great people

"Ludington with Shay" - Screw citizens and their concerns

"Ludington with caring Council" -  Make Ludington great again

"Ludington with current Council"  -  Sustainable corruption
