The crossed torches I have selected for the network icon for the Torch, is rather plain and I am not happy with it. Let's make one that we can be proud of. Display your best entry here, realizing it will be a small avatar-sized picture we will be working with. It would be nice to either be in the Torch/flame motif or something representative of our area.
All you shutterbugs and artistes: give me your best work

Also, beginning January, I plan on switching the masthead (the top strip) on a monthly basis (kind of like a calendar) from our initial torchflames into some member's photo contributions. I will probably cut a strip of a photo off to prevent the distortion that might occur with an unretouched photo. If you do not want me choosing and/or corrupting your publicly-displayed photos, let me know. I will usually try to get a hold of you first, before I choose your photo.

Here's a couple images that I found when I googled for torch images. I kind of like the first one in that its simple yet reflects the torch symbol. Plus its small enough that it should easily convert into a avatar sized image. The 2nd I liked in that it shows our flag and the statue of Liberty that suggest that all are welcome. Not sure if this type of stuff is what your looking for but figured i'd throw them out here anyway.

TLT decided to go with the computer-chip torch Dave submitted for the Network icon, because it represented the media we use and the symbol of this site. TLT will also use his other submission either during May or July on the banner to show the underlying patriotism of our site.
As the Wind farm debate will come to the forefront of the local news in January, TLT decided to show an actual offshore wind farm operating in Europe as an icon. For it or against it, whether it happens or not, this development will have a big effect on our community
Both pretty decent decisions X. Thanks Dave for your contributions. Many probably didn't have time for this right now. But, if you're changing monthly, maybe some new ones can be found. All in all, I like everything I've seen, including red flames burning. Kinda reminds ya, if ya can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen/torch. Speaking of HOT, over yonder Daves thread on Holiday displays is at about 150 replies now. Quite impressive.
