You Can See For Miles and Miles...........

......... Those windmills that is. As has been mentioned before, you can see the windmills for several miles... these photos were taken about 2 miles south of Hart on US 31. I know they were not perfect shots but I did what I could consider I was driving at the time. I'm still not sure if I like the idea of these things cluttering up the country side, I said it before, I am going to need to see the benefits of all these windmills before I can think about getting behind the idea.

If Proposal 12-3 passes we will see tens of thousands of these things going up all over the State, even in Lake Michigan because utilities will be forced to install them. We will be subsidizing them with billions of tax dollars and our electrical rates will go thru the roof. These monsters are at best only 22% efficient and when the wind stops blowing they are 0% efficient. Prop 3 is backed and sponsored by out of State wind energy companies. High electrical rates will discourage new businesses from locating here and could drive many companies out of the State.  Below is a picture similar to yours that I posted last week in the photos section. Another thing is the negative affect these will have on tourism and the plummeting of property values wherever they are installed. Folks don't come here to see 500 ft towers, they come here to enjoy the beauty of the Ludington area and the State.

Recall the County just last year, early (before these went up, or were in the pipeline, so to speak) used a North Carolingian consultant to develop a Cultural Economic Development Plan for our county for $60,000. 

These kind of screw up many of the agri-tourism ideals therein, and reduced the value of a few other things we had involving the "Mason County Brand".  I know I rode my bicycle more to the north this year than to the south, and it's usually the reverse.  Ascetics matter when you talk about tourism, and I will not be surprised if the Mason County Government looks closely at statistics in the coming years, they may eventually figure out they shot themselves in the foot with their decisions here.

These should of never been approved. We will never benefit from them. they will only hurt our community. They take away the beauty of the land.
