Dave to Take the Torch into April; No Fooling. Maybe May Too.

Edie has made it through March as our guest chief administrator, and I will have to say it was a successful month.  We're still here, and the forum seems to be as energized and vibrant as ever; members are still speaking freely and smartly, and though our membership is not numbering in the millions, thousands, or even hundreds, we have had great 'small town' repartee over the last four months, and stunning artwork. 

 

A truly independent thinker named Dave, many of you know him well, is going to be the chief administrator over the Ludington Torch for April.  He's very even-handed (he has two of them, I hear), and level headed (he can be used for hanging pictures straight on the wall), so let's welcome him into his new role.

 

He doesn't know this yet, but he also is being tapped for May.  Another member was being considered, but she has started her own site, and May should be her best recruiting month over there.  Anyone interested in getting executive experience in June, send me a message with your intent.

Just like the President Of The United States is called the POTUS for short, I feel we should adapt a nice acronym for our Torch government leaders.

Our executive branch, which Dave now heads, is the President Of Us Ludington Torch Reprobates, YEAH-- or POULTRY. They will protect us from giblets in the chicken soup.

Our judicial branch, which falls in my purview, is the Supreme Court Regulating Our Torch-Using Members-- or SCROTUM. I proudly hold in my hands the twin orbs of wisdom and jurisprudence.

Our legislative branch, the NING board, who gives us our rules to follow, is They Who Institute The Statutes, or TWITS. Seriously, they're a great bunch of folks who have set up great bases for sites like this.

Aq, If you get out your thicker dictionary, an orb or Orb is a globe (often surmounted by a cross) symbolizing royal sovereignty. Of course, it could also be an eye or anything round like a ball. I believe Shakespeare may have used the term orbs to describe the female bosom at one time or other. If not, he should have.

Are you allowed to replicate the Presidents face without permission?

I would think that use of the presidents image would be considered public domain. Probably worth looking into though just to be sure. Considering though that he is elected by the public and is paid with tax payers money, i can't imagine not being able to use the image of the president.
