This developing story intrigues me.  A high school aged citizen-journalist upsets a police officer and gets detained at the police station for over an hour without being read his Miranda Rights or having his parents notified-- then allegedly gets tacitly threatened when he is released.  The coverage (check out the video) speaks favorably for the young man's allegations.  In the police report, Officer Hill states that the young man was within five feet from him when filming, said the boy was becoming more upset, and that he was preventing the officer from doing his investigation and demanding his attention-- all debunked by the video.  What's your thoughts?

Looks like officer Dustin Hill went off the deep end there a bit.
Dustin Hill needs to be put on suspension, for exceeding his authority, false arrest, false imprisonment, violating the Miranda laws, and interfering with the Constitutional rights of a citizen at large. Better not hold our breath for that to happen. Some good lawyer might think different though. Talk about abusive tactics.

This reminded me of my own traffic stop on the bicycle a few years back, minus the video.  I minded my own business and went through an intersection in a legal and safe manner, and was pulled over by LPD's David Krause.  This officer then told different stories to his boss, my superiors at the LFD, and the courtroom-- and all were different from what actually happened.  In a police state (or city), however, the officer is always right.

X is into the hockey game tonight-- GO WINGS!!!

Just in case you think that X is totally anti-cop, I have heard him praise three different local LEO's over the last year.  When they out and out lie and do unethical and unprofessional acts, they have a job FAIL, and should seek a new job thats less honorable-- like politics or something.  Seems to happen around here alot.

As I've said before, anyone who has a great respect for the law and for those who enforce the law, must be troubled when just laws aren't followed, unjust laws are, and lawmen operate outside of the law.

Those who blindly believe all police officers are good and just, are just as blind as those who believe they're all bad.  The goal should be to weed out the bad ones and keep the good ones.

The Red Wings dropped game 7 tonight, trying to beat the Sharks and move on after being down 3 games to nothing.  They showed excellent character in their one goal loss; these guys are winners-- spectators for the rest of the Stanley Cup quest-- but winners.

Fifteen Minutes his

Famous now is Dustin Hill

Can I take picture?

Good ending to a sad story, and took 8 months to happen. Would have rather seen a longer suspension though, like 30 days w/o pay, might make a stronger impression on Hill.

In my opinion it is the obligation of every citizens to challenge authority. If we don't, we will quickly lose our freedoms. A perfect example is Mr. Rotta who has stood his ground and demanded answers to shady business practices of local politicians. And his reward was banishment from City Hall. My hats off to Mr. Rotta and the kid in the video.

and you can roller skate in a buffalo heard but neither of them is smart.  police shouldnt' have to deal with punk kids and punk adults like mr. rotta trying to provoke them.  they get dressed down when they do.  the kid in the vid might think hes won this round but I bet hes on a special list for future police scruteny.

Do you know what it means to be a 'sheeple' Heaven?
