I think everyone has heard about the trial of Mr. Zimmerman in Sanford, Fl.. The second degree murder charges look like they aren't going to fly. So what does the prosecution team do now? Since the defense team has now rested their case? Well, they now want to change the charges to get some sort of conviction, any conviction, and all for public injustice, not true justice. The prosecution now insists that a lesser charge of 3rd degree murder, manslaughter, and child abuse also be put in the mix. How the judge can let this happen after the trial is over, is ridiculous to me. But, in this day and age, with all the injustices happening around us daily, ok, why not, right?

It's obvious you think Martin was a victim and Zimmerman was guilty even though you try to make everyone believe your just exploring alternative scenarios. Everything you have posted is contrary to the evidence and common sense as well as being irrelevant.

Anyone with an ounce of brains should realize that the O'bama and Holder administration needs and WANTS all the distractions it came get. So the public will not keep their eyes on all the big problems this bunch have. ie, F&F, Bengazie, IRS and a I'm sure their are more we don't know about, yet.

I think it's also important to note that GZ, while being a capt. of a NW program, wasn't on duty that nite. He was acting in a capacity of citizen observations as he drove down a street. Where he was going, or why he was out there is unknown to me, perhaps someone else knows. And what time of night was it? All this would also tend to make a difference too imho. Thanks for the NW info., but I tend to agree, it's kinda irrelevant. Standing your ground and self defense are separate issues.

Speaking at the White House on Friday, President Obama addressed the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial for the killing of Trayvon Martin for the first time since 2012, when he declared that if he had a son, he’d look like Martin. This time, Obama said, “Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.”

Obama also said, “Reasonable doubt was relevant, and they rendered a verdict. Once the jury's spoken, that's how our system works.”

Obama said he was "bouncing around" ideas with his staff on how to respond to the Zimmerman verdict, adding, "I think it is going to be important for us to do some soul searching." Pushing against Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law, Obama stated, "If Trayvon Martin was of his age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk?"

Finally, Obama went into the racial complexities of the Martin situation: "If a white male teen was involved in the same kind of scenario, both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different." He did say, "As difficult and as challenging as this whole episode has been, I don't want us to lose sight that things are getting better...We're becoming a more perfect union, not a perfect union, but a more perfect union."

and again we stroke the fires of racism, and also attack American gun rights.

When the riots start, all else will be back page news. You can't convince me that this man is trying to keep the piece.

Obama: 'Trayvon Could Have Been Me'.   I bet a lot of people wished that. I've never heard a President fan the flames of racism like Obama has done while he tries to divide the Country. To bad the left can't see what he's doing

I believe at some point Zimmerman said he was headed to the local Target to do some shopping when he saw Martin walking.

It appears that Martin and his friend Rachel were homophobic. Rachel suggested that Zimmerman was a rapist. Which would mean that he was a homosexual rapist if he was after Martin. The gay community does not want to touch this one.

... who became a local target.  To finish your statement, Dave.

Interesting to see some of the things said over the past week from people on all sides of the issue.

Apparently on the Piers Morgan show, he interviewed Trayvon's reported girlfriend and state star witness Rachel Jeantel. During the interview, Jeantel mentioned that she thinks that Trayvon threw the first punch... although she also believes that Zimmerman had grabbed Martin or was near him, trying to grab him. Interesting that she would decide to mention this bit of speculation on Pier's show.... I have a feeling she isn't as dumb as she is supposedly said to be.

I've conversed with several people over the last week, mostly on Facebook regarding the case... some thought the verdict was just... and some, well, they didn't think it was so good. Many of the people that didn't support the verdict seem to have a very hard time separating their emotions from the facts. I heard repeatedly the line of thought of "how could someone murder someone for simply walking around in a hoodie?". Obviously that wasn't what happened... it was never about something as simple as Trayvon walking in his hoodie. Many of these people refuse to take into account that the neighborhood had had issues with break-ins that were reportedly done by a local gang known to wear hoodies... obviously someone that was part of the neighborhood watch that see's an unfamiliar person wearing a hoodie is going to take notice.

Many people also have a hard time trying to insert their own facts into the story that have no way of being proven. They either think they heard something somewhere or what have ya. A lot of these people continue to believe that Zimmerman started the fight and I've seen a few believe that Zimmerman was on top of Martin when he shot.... even though the fact is that Zimmerman was on the bottom.

Many of these people think that wearing a hoodie now makes them a target which is just plain silly. The only way you'll be a target is if your in an unfamiliar neighborhood, wearing clothing known to be associated with a local gang and you appear to go after someone that is following you from a distance (the last part about going after someone is one possible action that might of happened the night in question... evidence from the trial would appear to add at least some credibility to this possibility).

Had one guy just go on and on, trying to press facts and what not that I would shoot down with facts... of course he didn't like that. One of my favorite things was he posted a audio clip that supposedly has Zimmerman saying "F****** Coons"... I listened to the clip and honestly couldn't tell if he was saying 'coons' or 'goons'. Then I mentioned a comment made by a Sanford PD homicide detective (this was found in the FBI report recently released that I posted a thread about  here ) that Zimmerman knew of the local gang mentioned above... their name was.... wait for it..... the 'Goons'. He really didn't like that tidbit. Ended up just wondering how I could support a child murderer.

Be interesting to see what happens to Zimmerman from this point on... will he be sued by the family in a civil trial? Will the Feds try and put him on trial for Civil Rights reasons? I think the Feds are going to have a tough time finding anything to use against Zimmerman, specially after the FBI report finding no indication of racial issues. I tend to think that our beloved AG was just paying the Martin supporters some lip service.... I don't think anything will come of their investigation. At this point, it would probably be tough for the Martin family to win a civil suite... they would have to convince a jury in that trial of what the state obviously couldn't do and that is show that Zimmerman didn't act in self defense. Also, by going to a civil suite, a lot more information regarding Trayvon.. most of it not favorable, mostly regarding his drug usage on the day of the shooting and his school troubles would be admissible. Zimmerman might not be able to be sued.... he could take part in a Stand Your Ground Immunity hearing.... which from what I understand would prevent him from being held accountable anyway. Even if the Martin family won, I don't know how much good it would do unless they have changed laws in Florida, we all remember OJ losing a civil trial and then moving to Florida to avoid paying.

Probably not worth saying, but I will anyway. Facts just don't seem to sink in with some people.

Don't worry they'll try to stick him with something ,just to appease the mob rule mentality

If there ever was a racist comment it is yours. "squeaky white females". Now your using race as the reason for the jury's decision. You forget that the prosecution also made the decision to accept these women to sit on the jury.
