Can someone find out the actual salary the new City Manager will receive?

I see it listed as $97K and change. Are there any assurance's from city council that this is all it will be and will it be listed under a  clear accounting entry? 

Or will the council be using the phony accounting practice of John Shay/Steve Brock and kiting a little money here and there and having compensation be whatever they wish it to be.

The car allowance alone is $4k/yr., plus cell phone and much much more, and also adding in fringes, which are about 80% of the pay, about $75K, so it all adds up to about $200K roughly. That is a HUGE Paycheck for Ludville to have to endure nowadays, and has been for quite the last 15 years already imho. NO City Mgr. should get this much for that job, esp. with Ludville in the red on pensions and all the rest of the budget. Would anyone making half or less of this ever contradict the city council or the Mayor when he is receiving this much $$$$? My guess is NEVER!

True. Unreal salary and benefits. That's enough money to make an honest, ethical, conservative into a lying, crooked liberal that would kiss the Mayors shoes. City Council seems way more concerned about funding another beer party or downtown event than they are about balancing the budget, paying off the debt, fixing infrastructure or making life easier for the taxpayer. They paid $17,000 to the MML to advertise the job and take in the resumes and another $17,000 for a study to raise employees wages. When will it stop?

It is a real scam FS and AQM. 

And why FICM Steve Brock wanted the salary for the city manager's position to be in the top quintal of the salary range. To perpetuate the scam.

It has nothing to do with either the longevity or competency of the applicant, but it has everything to do with increasing the salary range. Moving the salary ball down the field so to speak.

Now Winneconne has an opening and so like Ludington, contract for a phony salary report, and the Wisconsin Municipal League will take their money to advertise for a new city manager. And maybe they are dumb enough that they will want the salary to be in the top quintal.

Yes shinblind! Keen analysis. I've been looking for a place to put a comment about the MML acting like a union for city managers. Who knows how much ring kissing is going on to Jeff Mueller to get into the top ten or top three or how much BS is going on in the negations behind closed doors.

What happened to the good old days when a city could advertise to the public and review their own applications for free (or used $34,000 to pay down our debt).

I think that the MML and the city attorney talk in such legal jargon that they have our council scared sh-tless to make a decision on their own. The failure of the last city manager is perpetuated, put on a pedestal and treated like it's more important job than a brain surgeon. John Shay was an overpaid paper pusher who didn't know how to take care of infrastructure, city water and sewer, or his own ego.

Can only hope this new manager will be worth his money and have his own mind to fix our city and get us out of debt, but as long as Wilson is here, I fear he is going to be bamboozled.

Add to that the abusively high cost of the current City Attorney whose advice has led to even more unnecessary legal fees. Between the City Manager and City Attorney's budgets it's a wonder Ludington has not gone bankrupt. But of course this all boils down to years of incompetency displayed by a City Council which panders to cronyism instead of to the electorate which must bare the final responsibility because they have shirked their duty to elect officials whose best interest should be the well being of the citizenry. .

Add to that an often law-twisting, a-s-covering, sometimes ignorant, rambling, monotonous, and seemingly arrogant city attorney.
