Pretty in Pinckney
Located just a few miles from Hell (Michigan), the city of Pinckney had an unlikely event happen at their recent homecoming game. The Homecoming Queen kicked the winning field goal for the home football team.
No stunt or gender-challenged guy here, just an athletic young lady named Brianna Amat who outkicked two other young men in getting her job as the placekicker of her school's football team. And just so happened to receive the honor of being voted Homecoming Queen while wearing a decidedly unfeminine football uniform. Brianna tacked on points 7, 8 and 9 with her toe to provide the winning margin in a 9-7 win for Pinckney, capping out what must have been a magical night for her. News of the coincident went national, making Brianna's night even more special.

This is the kind of story I'd like to see more often.. a good person that has something good happen to them, not nearly enough of these type of stories these days.

But just consider. Because of Bri, some delicate flower didn't become a homcoming queen, and one of the not so athletic boys that couldn't make it as a defensive or offensive player did not get the opportunity to shine themselves by making the FG. Oops, I'm thinking like a liberal again.

For those not familiar with football I want to point out that almost everyone on the team will try out for the position. If some not so athletic boy could kick better than her then he would be doing it. The reason she is doing the kicking is that she is simply the best kicker in the school. She earned the job.
