Here is an birdseye view of the new planned 4 story apartment complex/ lower level retail spaces in today's daily snews.

Aside from mistakenly naming Loomis Street- Loomis Avenue there is another alteration in the plans. The North East corner is now dedicated to being a parking lot instead of the Maude's Garage/ Subway building. Yet as recently as the middle of January he city council was told that, "The project would work around some of the existing buildings, the building that houses Maude’s Gallery would be kept intact for its unique architecture and worked into the plan..."

It is not huge deal although you have to ask what would be better on the corner of Ludington Avenue and Rath, a private parking lot and dumpsters? or as the city was told Maude's Garage. If the city council owned a pair they would re-question both Shay and developer Bob Jacobson as to the change. It must be submitted to the State for grant approval the end of March. Not a lot of time.
Also bear in mind that these plans looks like architectural blueprints compared to the plans released so far for the West End Scheme. I guess this is part of the reason we lose trust this group of assholes that make up the city counci. They are at best incompetent, and worst they are crooks and fools.

You have to wonder why the designation of a senior and persons with special needs are being targeted for this project. But of course, they want tax dollars to help pay for it. Sounds good that this benevolent builder would want to help out the elderly and needy at the taxpayers expense. What they don't tell you is that if Government money is used then every person who receives Government assistance [handout] will qualify to live in those units. This includes druggies, alcoholics, mental patients and all manner of those living on our dime. In larger cities where senior high rises were built they were forced to take any and all of societies unfortunates because they were being discriminated against by not being allowed to have living units like the seniors had. The courts ruled that anyone receiving Governments also have a right to live in those units. What a mess. The poor seniors were forced to live with people addicted to drugs and alcohol and the mentally ill. One large "senior" high rise in Lansing had to be evacuated because a mental patience started a fire which left the 8 story building unlivable and because that person was mentally "handicapped" no charges were filed. Hundreds of people lost their homes and all their possessions were damaged by smoke. This was ten years ago and it's still vacant. Our tax dollars at work.

The eight-story building, one block from the capitol, houses the offices of the commission and its 20 employees. The seven stories above the offices have been vacated since a tenant-caused fire nearly a decade ago, although the extent of fire damage is hard to ascertain.
The same people who cannot figure out how to carry out competitive bidding for city projects, thereby making charges of cronyism and official-profiteering reasonable when applied to them, now offer us this developer to develop the block that Western Land Services gave up on.
Jacobson informed the COLDNews (p A3) that some unnamed Ludington officials contacted his company through mutual acquaintances to get him interested in this area. One can only guess what inducements have been offered, but I will offer some reasons in short shrift why this may not be a good thing with this developer.
I found this interesting tidbit. Translate Dubuque for any Michigan town taking HUD dollars. Hmmm, maybe we'll see more Chicagoans in Ludington soon?!?

Hmmm, Ludington could be attached to the Muskegon or Flint or wherever metro areas depending on the gerrymandered whims from Washington.
So if Chicago can cross the Mississippi river and State lines to Dubuque Iowa, can Milwaukee cross Lake Michigan and annex Ludington regarding HUD housing? As Washington DC looks at this area being fly-over country anyway that could be a possibility.
The type of housing project that Ludingtons foolish Council is considering will certainly qualify to house some of the huge number of Muslim refugees and we all know there are terrorists among them. There should be no Types of Government housing approved for Ludington because there are to many strings attached and local control will be lost.

I promised a bombshell on this proposed project and decided it would be best to initially drop it in my three minute public comment tonight at the council meeting. While you're waiting to get in your two cents about the West End Project, listen up the public comments before that.
Should we wait for the video, or do we get this before X? Curious now.
Me too, very curious! Hope everyone signed the petition and shared. Even though it says citizens/taxpayers anyone that visits the area is a tax payer and seems to be the only ones that the COL council really care for?
Up to 104!

It should be out tomorrow, LCC video or not. I want to see how the other local media covered it first.
The bombshell wasn't my latest FOIA lawsuit with the city which was also served tonight, nor was it something new over the West End Project though both were covered tonight.
