The study by Stanford of Covid19 in Santa Clara Ca. shows that the rate of infection is up to 80 times more than estimated, meaning that the virus is extremely wide spread and is much weaker than predicted. That makes the death rate in Santa Clara much lower than models predicted. If this study is correct then it means the shut down was completely unnecessary.

A team of Stanford University scientists testing for coronavirus antibodies has found an infection rate many times higher than the number of reported cases in Santa Clara County, the region with the most COVID-19 patients in Northern California.

The researchers tested 3,330 Santa Clara County residents ages 19 to 64 on April 3 and 4 and found antibodies in 2.49% to 4.16% of the samples. The percentage range occurred because various adjustments were made based on race, demographics and other variables.

Researchers used the results to calculate that between 48,000 and 81,000 people were infected in the county in early April, when only 1,094 cases had been reported. That’s essentially 50 to 85 people with antibodies for each confirmed case of SARS-CoV-2, the official name of the virus, the report said.

Watching the Gretch's bull story live.

Now claiming the virus is racist.

Funny when it was first reported the virus kills the elderly [Trump supporters] she didn't need Federal help or the first line treatment of hydroxychloroquine and z-pak. Now that a disproportional number of inner city residents are dying she is looking to blame Trump.

She is not a leader.

My relatives neighbor in Lansing works at Sparrow Hospital and said that of the 480 or so patients admitted to Sparrow for Covid19, 475 have been released. There have been 4 people who died at Sparrow from Covid 19 but all 4 were in bad shape when they came in and one was DOA. Many of the cases were from surrounding counties because Sparrow is the main hospital in the area. The tri county area around Sparrow has a population of almost 500,000 people. 4 out of 480 is less then a 1% mortality rate. The Sparrow employees were instructed not to post negative videos or they would be in trouble. I'm staying in Lansing for a while but will still be posting. Maybe I can take some nice pictures of the big city.

it's interesting how other states are handling this pandemic. I'm out of the state right now in the second largest city in this state. There is the social distance request and the shut down of all the non essential businesses . But if you went to Walmart, lowe's , home depot or harbor freight you would never know there was a shelter in place order. Of coarse the news is pushing how many cases of the virus there are and the deaths every news cast. People bringing food in for the over worked hospital workers every day. That got me to thinking , how many infected people were in the local hospital? So i e-mailed the local news paper and asked the question. Surprisingly they e-mailed me back and said they have been trying to find that out also but the hospitals won't release that information. The wife happens to know a reporter at the tv station and she did the same . Got the same reply. A couple days later there was a news report about the numbers at the local hospital. The director said there were 5 cases , none on ventilators  at the present time. HOLY CRAP 5 cases in a hospital that has 700 beds. Were in deep do do here. I hope those over worked hospital HEROS for their bellies full of free food .Stay safe up there in Michigan , may show up for the 4th of july , maybe.

Why are people skeptical of "science"???

1. You must not leave the house for any reason, unless you have a reason, then you can leave the house.
2. Masks save lives, but they may not work, and they may become mandatory, but maybe not.
3. Shops are closed, except shops that are open.
4. You must not go to work unless you have to go to work.
5. You shouldn’t go to the doctors or the hospital unless you have to go there, unless you are too ill to go there.
6. Don’t be scared of the virus. It only affects people who are vulnerable or people who are not vulnerable.
7. Gloves won't help, but they can still help, so wear them sometimes or not.
8. Stay at home, but it's important you go out.
9. The virus does not affect children except the children it affects.
10. Animals are not affected, except for a cat in Belgium, plus a few tigers.
11. You will have many symptoms if you get the virus, but you can also get symptoms without getting the virus, get the virus without having any symptoms or be contagious without having symptoms, or be noncontagious with symptoms.
12. Eat fresh food and exercise but eat whatever you have on hand, as it's better not to go out shopping.
13. It's important to get fresh air, but don't go to parks, but do go for a walk. But don’t sit down, except if you are old, but not for too long unless you are pregnant or not old or pregnant but need to sit down.
14. Don’t visit old people but do take care of old people and bring them food and medication.
15. You are safe if you maintain the safe social distance when out, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance.
16. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours or four hours or six hours or maybe days. But it needs a damp environment. Or a cold environment that is warm and dry or in the air, as long as the air is not plastic.

Excellent summary FS of what's going on and how leftists think.

Not my original, Willy. I just thought it was funny in this ambivalent and partisan time. The model of the Leftist brain is funny with elements of true generalizations especially in the frontal lobe!

Whoever composed that list was a pretty good practitioner of scientific observations.  True science is based on observations, clinical trials, controlled experiments, etc., and I think we are seeing once again a hijacking of science, a noble calling, by partisans who try to distort their dogma into something backed by science, just like was done with climate change/global warming/global cooling over the last few decades.

The COVID-19 hysteria began escalating shortly after Trump's impeachment trial commenced with a resounding dud and big media was looking to latch onto another way to put a negative spotlight on Trump.  I have come to a personal conclusion since last week that the coronavirus hysteria  has turned into another "h" word that rhymes with 'coax'.

Maybe you missed this 'live mike' moment before a task force update that referenced this Santa Clara study, it gives you several things to ponder about how the White House press corps has been playing this:

Thanks for posting that video X. I think he was refrencing the Los Angeles study. The drive by media already knew about this so the White House conversation was moot as far as being news worthy. I don't pay attention to ABC news but used their video to show that the fake news media already knew the information about the study before the White house briefing.
