Did anyone see or hear where the Shyster will stay on here for his kid to graduate in 3 years? Funny, I distinctly remember him repeatedly saying his kids were being followed and stalked by individuals here. Why then stay? If the kids are scared how many parents would put off moving when a new career job is 80 miles away? That again proves the claim was untrue and a cowardly lie, along with 100's of others he's stated on and off record.

Shay calls in the cops when somebody offers a cure for his mouth on an on-line political forum, yet only talks about a critic stalking his house and his family at the end of city council meetings when it is politically expedient to do so, like when he just cost them $15,000+.  Total fiction that I invite any neutral police agency to investigate as much as they want before coming to the conclusion that Shay is a liar without any scruples.

Shay talked of feeling so threatened and unsafe during Threatgate in 2016 one would think he would want to get out of Ludington with his family at the earliest opportunity, but he wants to stay here with his family for years.  I'm hoping he said that just because he wanted COLDNews Editor Steve Begnoche to quit crying and let him leave the interview.

Good point Aquaman.  Something smells very dead fishy about that. Is Shay that ignorant of west Michigan winter commute? Are Ludington schools that great to warrant a commute of that distance? That's about as logical and well-thought out as the destroying the natural beauty of the dunes in the west end Ludington avenue project or as responsible as the neglect of the pere Marquette bayou cleanup neglect.

Interesting timing of announcement just before the Love Ludington weekend! What does that say about Shay loving Ludington? And what does that tell about Shay's commitment to bettering our community? Leaving us with $$$ 40 million dollar debt right in the middle of infrastructure work after years of neglect and non-compliance with DEQ permits and ignoring or covering up highest blood-lead-levels in children in Michigan.

A "public servant" like this seems to be in service for himself and his own advancement first.  So-long ... the sooner he is gone the better.  He should have been gone years ago.  I hope the city council learns a lesson about this.

FS, I'm certain that Shay would have not told the local public about his career move until July had not the Holland area media announced his coronation about eight hours before the local media addressed it.  Recall in the second March meeting when Councilor Moonbeam chided me for insinuating that Shay was spending too much time padding his resume and attending interviews far away to complete a DNR application fully and truthfully.  It seems likely that he was already doing those actions for the Ottawa County position before I said that.  Let's hope that Ottawa County needs a Community Development Director who comes with an added bonus of a sign-making husband.

That's another one who needs to be shown the door. She's responsible for a lot of the crap that's been going on since the beginning. Both her and that liar Shay used fear and lies to have X banned from City Hall. For quite a few years now we have had a lot of negativity, lying, BS coming out of City Hall.

Yes! High-priced gold lettering included.

Has anyone ever seen 18 Kt. Gold paint lettering on any signs before? Esp. any of our public road/traffic signage? I called all the local painters about that and not one of them had anything ever like that kind of contract, not that in stock, nor did they have any reasonable time to give a quotation for that contract. That's easily why Tye's Signs got it, and Heather knew all too well the case for her fiance at that time, with a very serious conflict of interest. And yet, it went right thru like nothing was wrong at all.

Though glitzy it makes for better entertainment signage.  It is non-standard and hard to read for public road or directional signage.  They are hard to read even if you stop in traffic and stare at them.   Do you think the public had any say in the decision?  It's kind of like Oceana county a few years back put non-standard road signs on 4" X 4" posts with cutout lettering vertically on the posts. Those was even harder to read.

Heather is proud of her corruption, she has shown this throughout her tenure, whether it's arranging a $150,000 contract for her hubby's sign business that avoided that nasty competitive bidding process, fudging on multiple grant applications to get money for her other cohorts like Kathy MacLean and Budde Reed, or taking money away from the Shop with a Cop program by defrauding a bunch of runners.  She thinks she's doing great things.

The downtown signs are effectively useless except as a curio.  Remember when I posed an eight question sign quiz, and three people who have lived in the Ludington area their whole life took it?  They had failing scores of zero, one, and three when trying to guess where the sign came from.  And we expect our already befuddled tourists to understand what an arrow pointing at the ground means.

It's hard to believe that 6 years have gone by since those silly signs were installed. Looking back at that sign quiz is a good reality check of how out of control these people running Ludington have been these past years.

Just like the phony he is.

John 'Carpetbagger' Shay will be leaving the City of Ludington just when the bills are coming due.

Grabs his pension and rides off into the sunset.

Sells his house at the peak of the market before the full effect of the taxpayer reckoning comes due.

And his appointed toads will be paying him tribute both financially and with praise.

And the voters will do what they are told.
